Hollywood Boulevard, end to end

A day in Los Angeles — 4 stops, about 4.21 km on foot, 58 minutes walking.

A short walk along the busiest stretch of Hollywood Boulevard, from the stars in the sidewalk to an old grill room, finishing at the cemetery where many of the same names are buried. About 3.5 km of walking, most of it flat pavement. Suits anyone curious about film history rather than spectacle.

The route, in order

  1. Hollywood Walk of Fame

Start here because the stars run the length of the boulevard and set the geography for everything that follows.

  2. 15 min walk — Head west on Hollywood Blvd toward Wilcox Ave

    TCL Chinese Theatres

A few steps along the same sidewalk, the forecourt handprints give you something older and more tactile than the stars.

  3. 7 min walk — Head southeast toward Hollywood Blvd

    Musso & Frank Grill

    Opens 17:00

Doors open at 17:00, so this is where the day turns into evening — an early dinner in a room that has barely changed.

  4. 36 min walk — Head east on Hollywood Blvd toward N Cherokee Ave

    Hollywood Forever Cemetery

    Opens 08:30

The walk south and east from the boulevard ends at the cemetery, worth timing for an evening screening or concert if one is on.
